Ah, now there's the question; What is the SCA? SCA stands for the "Society for Creative Anachronism". We are a world-wide organisation dedicated to the study and re-creation of the Middle Ages, specifically Western Culture from about 600 AD to 1650 AD.
A very good introduction to the Society can be found in the handbook "Forward Into the Past", printed originally in 1989. Here is the online version.
The Known World is divided up into 18 Kingdoms. We live within the Kingdom of An Tir, which encompasses British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, the Yukon and Northwest Territories, Oregon, Washington, and Northern Idaho. Within the Kingdom, we live in the Principality of Tir Righ, which covers western BC and northern Washington. Within that, the group we belong to is centred in Greater Vancouver, and is called the Barony of Lions Gate.

A great article on SCA combat. You'll see a fair bit of it at the event.
A great number of pictures taken by Caitrina, at Sealion War in Abbotsford, two years ago (we couldn't attend last year). See if you can spot Uilliam, Raven (Uilliam's son), and Grece (Caitrina's daughter). Sealion is a traditional war between the baronial armies of Lions Gate (Vancouver) and Seagirt (Victoria). That year, we kicked butt. However, there's always another war!
